There are many different ways to enjoy life in college. I enjoy watching t.v. My advice to the students from congo would become and study its a good place. I feel once you come here its a matter or committment as it is not easy to come. The first time when you come here its hard to get adapted to the australian culture, the language spoken. In congo French is spoken mostly. So getting adjusted and being committed to study depends from person to person.
Prior to studying at VU, i was studying in Tasmania. I even completed my VCE, then my friends referred me to this uni. The admission process was not bad as i came in person and filled up the forms, just a matter of few months.
I did not get any scholarships so i did not applied. However, i do get some concessions from the Australian government.
I am studying electrical engineering. The best bit about my studies are Maths. The teachers are quite helpful and i find the units to be useful in the future. The classes are quite multicultural. I study for 5 days in a week.
We have the student facilities like library. student cafeteria, gym, swimming pool, basketball court etc. I am not working right now because i want to give 100% to my studies. I am living in sunshine suburb with my family, i find the rent not to be cheap. I am too lazy to join the clubs and groups in college.
Yes i believe that my job prospects have increased as a result from my studies here. I will have to wait and see, maybe i will go for a further degree or maybe i will work and study at the same time, i am not too sure about the future. Yes,i will also keep in touch with classmates. I have not yet joined the alumni, but i will think about it.
